Week 4: Medicine + Technology + Art

Modern medicine is one of the most outstanding advances that humans have created. In recent Modern medicine is one of the most outstanding advances that humans have created. In recent years, the number of innovative surgical procedures and scanning devices has increased, making medicine a more interesting field. As mentioned in lecture, this advances are the representation of the intersection between medicine, art, and technology. Even though the connection between art and medicine is not crystal clear, we can interpret the human body and its anatomy as a piece of art that had to be studied in order to create machines that could improve it.

In my personal experience, the body and prosthetics are the future of science. Prosthetics were the first devices created in order give mobility back to patients who lacked extremities. Technology and science have played an important role in the development of new kinds of prosthetics using connectors that send electro-signals to the brain which allows the patients to command with their brains specific movements directly to the prosthetics. This mixture of art, medicine, and technology is the main improvement of the contemporary society and culture that will continue to innovate; exploring the different ways anatomy can be studied.
